Time to plan ahead for Spring
- Now is the time to plant bulbs to ensure gorgeous color in the spring. If wildlife likes to dine in your yard, try daffodils, hyacinths and grape hyacinths. They are more "critter resistant".
- Prepare the soil now so that new beds will be ready for planting in spring. Add compost to perennial and annual beds to enrich the soil.
- Dig up overgrown perennials and re-plant the divisions for bigger impact next season. You can share the left-overs with friends and neighbors.
- Add mulch around tender shrubs and perennials for an extra layer of protection from freeze and thaw, ensuring a good start in the spring
